OCARTA reaches out with authentic voices and to educate the public in order to reduce the stigma attached to mental illness and substance use disorders.
This can involve joint partnerships with other Recovery focused organizations, educating Recovery professionals on the benefits of peer recovery support services, or providing public education to reduce stigma received by those in Recovery.
Every April, OCARTA celebrates the U.S. National recovery month by making our voices heard at the Oklahoma State Capitol building.
Bowls of Hope
Once each month, members of the OCARTA team deliver soup or hot dogs (weather depending) at the OKC bus station to individuals in need.
Every September, OCARTA puts together this public awareness event to celebrate those who are in Recovery and remember those who are not with us.
